Efficiency Measurement of Indian Banking Industry: An Empirical Comparative Analysis

The following study is conducted to measure and compare the performance of 32 Indian banks, 21 public 11 private at two tiers during period 2008–2018. Industrial analysis both banking sectors in first tier, followed by an individual bank-level second tier. Data consists deposits, assets, equity as inputs outputs practicing data envelopment techniques. empirical results portray a mixed trend various elements efficiency. They reveal that with common pledge expand market share performance, banks have been improving covering highest efficiency level. However, industry level, has slightly better technical pure compared industry. On other hand, sector performed well stipulated based on mean scale results.Generally, many studies Banking Industry focus determinants industrial growth indicators. Further, we examine bank level incorporating latest available data. In terms efficiency, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., bank, scored State Bikaner & Jai score thus best example bank. Despite improvement income deposits types banking, there still room for redirect their short-term long-term marketing communication strategies targeting customers enhancing management skills branch
